Bethany scoops Top 100 Blue Gold for Reserve RieslingBethany Wines
Bethany Wines has taken home a Top 100 Blue Gold medal for its 2010 Eden Valley Reserve Riesling at the Sydney International Wine Competition.
The same wine has also made it into the Hot 100 South Australian Wines for 2013, along with the 2008 LE Reserve Shiraz.
The award-wins come off the back of what has been an exceptional year on the wine show front for Bethany Wines, whose wines have won more than 30 medals in 2013 and several outstanding reviews.
The 2010 Eden Valley Reserve Riesling is sourced from premium fruit from the Eden Valley - a cool climate region in the Barossa which produces wines of great delicacy an finesse - and has already received a number of accolades. Among them is a 96-point rating from James Halliday in the 2013 Australian Wine Companion.
The 2010 Eden Valley Reserve Riesling is the second wine to be released from the Reserve Riesling series, which aims to show the influence of 'terroir' on each vintage.
The ideal terroir of the vineyards in the Eden Valley provide Riesling grapes of exceptional quality. These conditions, combined with Bethany Wines' traditional practice of cool, controlled fermentation of gravity separated juice, produced a premium quality Reserve Riesling in 2010.
