Bethany wines will go under the spotlight later this month in the new TV series, Business Agenda SA, set to air on Channel Nine and Imparja.

Debuting on October 12, the five-part series will provide a behind the scenes look into successful South Australian businesses and their ties with Asia.

Bethany Wines is among the businesses chosen to feature in an episode of its own because of its success in selling its iconic wines in China, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The 30-minute episode starring Bethany Wines airs on October 26 and follows the winery’s director, Geoff Schrapel, on his recent promotional trip to Asia and explores his relationships with the wine trade and his ambitions in this key market.

The episode also takes viewers on a journey into the history of Bethany Wines and features footage of the historic cellar door, the winery as well as beautiful views of the Schrapel family vineyards and the Barossa.

Red Bikini TV producer Justin O’Brien said Bethany Wines was leading the way in engaging with China.

“Bethany Wines is aiming at the premium end of the market, which is what it’s all about. It’s about building the brand rather than taking the quick and easy money that comes with volume-driven export,” Justin said.

Bethany Wines has been exporting its finest wines, including its flagship GR Shiraz, to China since 2010. Geoff said China has major potential but requires patience, persistence and relationship development.

“It’s about educating the Chinese, building relationships and reinforcing the message of quality,” Geoff said.

Bethany Wines will feature in Business Agenda SA on Channel Nine and Imparja on Saturday October 26 at 12.30pm (South Australia time). The episode will also be uploaded to YouTube and social media sites.
