"Our aim in life is to live well, provide for our children, care for the land and hand our winery and vineyards on to the next generation in a better position from when we started” - Robert Schrapel.

New arrivals from the 2012 vintage

Bethany Wines
March-05-15

Bethany Wines has released two new wines from the 2012 vintage, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes ripened slowly and steadily in near ideal conditions gave wine exceptional depth and dimensions. They have full of density, colour and rich flavour.

Tasting notes

2012 Shiraz

The 2012 Bethany Shiraz is deep, vibrant red black in colour and showing a wonderful bouquet of dark forest fruits. The plate is elegant yet full flavoured whilst the lingering finish is a delightful blend of varietal fruit, spicy overtones and restrained oak characters. Picked from hand pruned vines grown along the Barossa foothills this wine displays all the classic characteristics one expects from a premium quality Barossa Shiraz. Great drinking now, although it will benefit from a few years cellaring. Enjoy with grilled steak and fresh field mushrooms or an aged vintage cheddar.

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

Traditionally fermented and aged for one year in French oak casks the colour is deep red, purple and displays aromas of ripe, rich plums and a hint of cassis. A modern style with a delightfully soft, round mouthfeel it may be enjoyed just on its own or as a companion to red meat dishes, barbeques and full flavoured cheese.
